Ruby Roach
Senior Product & Program Manager
A decade of driving global programs, product strategy, and operational transformation at Amazon — scaling markets across three continents, launching stores from Belgium to Sub-Saharan Africa, and building AI tools that accelerate how teams deliver.
Disciplines
Technical Program Management
Cross-functional program leadership across 100+ engineers, managing complex lifecycles, technical dependencies, and release cycles in high-scale global environments.
Product Management
Defining product strategy, requirements, and roadmaps for global markets. Translating business goals into executable plans and partnering with engineering to ship measurable outcomes.
Global Expansion & Localization
Launching products into new international markets, navigating regulatory, cultural, and technical complexity. Managed 5+ country expansions annually across Africa, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
AI & Automation
Building and maintaining Gen AI tools and LLM workflows to reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and accelerate team delivery. Applied AWS Textract and custom LLMs to real operational problems.
Quality Assurance
End-to-end software testing across mobile iOS and Android, distributed hardware systems, and CI/CD pipelines. Led QA teams of 3–7 engineers and mentored QAEs into TPM roles.
Operations & Process Design
Designing operational frameworks that improve efficiency, delivery consistency, and compliance — from release cadence rewrites to physical security programs and vendor management.
Highlighted Impact
- Re-launched the FBA Global Purchasing Program from a $1.7M/month operating loss to $27M YTD in 2024 — coordinating across product, engineering, and operations to deliver scale within 8 weeks.
- Expanded the Amazon Seller App from 12 to 19 countries in 2020–2021, coordinating 100+ engineers across mobile, localization, and platform teams to deliver 6 new language layers and desktop/mobile parity.
- Wrote the technical strategy for the Amazon Belgium Store launch — unblocking 85% of the available catalog and enabling 1,000,000+ new offers for customers at launch in September 2022.
- Launched the e-commerce returns experience and strategy for the Amazon South Africa store — the first of its kind for Sub-Saharan Africa — navigating regional compliance and cultural complexity.
- Built an LLM application that compared BRDs to architectural frameworks, reducing missed requirements and cutting redundancy by 30% across the product team in 2024.
- Rewrote the Amazon Seller App release cadence framework — adding guardrails and a tiered system that saved 2 weeks per release cycle and an estimated $5,000,000 in engineering hours.
- Drove AI-powered automation of country-of-origin data using AWS Textract, reducing manual fulfillment center overhead by $70K year-over-year and improving outgoing PO accuracy to 90%.
- Mentored 2–3 engineers year over year on scaling and career growth — with each either promoted to the next level, shifted job families, or expanded scope.
- Co-authored the business strategy and internal documentation for Project Bertha — Amazon's first regional expansion model — introducing a host/guest marketplace architecture that enabled lightweight country launches with local fulfillment, local currency, and domestic delivery speeds at a fraction of a full store launch cost.
